While it feels secluded and remote, free bicycles on the property make it easy to head into town across the motorbike bridge. Walking to town across the bamboo bridge is possible in the dry season as well. The resort is a spectacular hideaway. Walk through a bamboo tunnel to get from the street to the resort. Turned into a hotel in 2010, it’s the French-run sister resort to 3 Nagas Hotel in downtown Luang Prabang and was fully restored in 2015. The facilities have traditional Lao architecture as well as French Colonial style. Pet rabbits run through the manicured gardens that also have lily ponds, pools, and an outdoor fire pit.

Azerai
Azerai opened its doors in March 2017. The 53-room luxury hotel has a bistro with drool-worthy desserts and the beautiful bar with its wooden ceiling has happy hour every night from 5 to 10 pm. The location really can’t be beaten as it is steps away from attractions such as temples and the night market. A beautiful outdoor pool occupies the centre of the courtyard. A yoga studio on the premises hosts classes on Sundays, and the spa offers pampering massages and world-class service.

Satri House Secret Garden Retreats
Satri House is an art lover’s dream come true. The property used to be the house of the Lao royal family and was converted into a five-room guest house in 2002. It has since expanded to include 31 rooms. Situated near downtown Luang Prabang, this luxury resort boasts two swimming pools, lotus ponds, and museum-quality artifacts from all over Asia collected by the Lao-born and French-raised owner.
